Biography:
Dr. Ramon Schafer is board certified in family medicine through the American Board of Family Medicine and the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians. Dr. Schafer started in medicine later in life, after a career with the U.S. Navy and U.S. Government. He attended medical school at Rocky Vista University in Parker, Colorado and residency at Canyon Vista Medical Center in Sierra Vista, Arizona. He practiced at a rural health clinic in Overgaard, Arizona before moving to Gallup, New Mexico.Dr. Schafer believes strongly in rural medicine, patient education and overseas medical missions. He believes everyone deserves quality medical care and enjoys educating patients about their health. His faith is the most important aspect of his life and it guides how he approaches healthcare and his personal life. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and exercising.
Dr. Schafer Jr is a board certified Family Medicine Physician. He received his medical training at the Rocky Vista University. Dr. Schafer will be a full-time physician at the College Clinic, specializing in family medicine.
