RMCHCS is Proud to Announce Our New Swing Bed Program

Swing Bed is a hospital based rehabilitation service. The purpose of hospital rehab is to improve strength, balance, medication education, wound management, and much more.

We are pleased to offer individuals recovering from illness, injury or surgery full rehabilitation services where these services are available close to home. Medical staff, nursing, and Physical Therapy work together to provide an environment to facilitate a successful transition home.

Rehabilitation (or acute medical rehabilitation) refers to a specialized healthcare program dedicated to improving, maintaining or restoring physical strength, function, cognition, and mobility. The goal of rehabilitation is to return patients to a more independent level of activity. Typically, rehabilitation helps people gain greater independence following illness, injury or surgery.

One important key to success in rehabilitation therapy is our hospital’s team approach. Rehabilitation works best with a diverse team of experts, working together. Each brings special expertise to the table; the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. They work in concert to develop a treatment plan for physical, cognitive, and emotional needs. Team members include:

Case Manager
Dietary
Physician
Pharmacy
Rehabilitation Services
Respiratory Therapist
Activities Coordinator
Nurses
