Dr. Christopher Hoover
Biography:I am a native of Chicago, where I grew up and went to medical school, at Rush University, on
Chicago's west side. I was trained in Urology at Boston Medical Center in Boston's beautiful
South End neighborhood. I went on to pursue fellowship training in voiding dysfunction and
laser prostate surgery at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. I am a Board-Certified
Urologist, by the American Board of Urology, having received this honor in 2018. I have several
peer-reviewed publications, including research studies and medical illustrations.
My family and I are happy to call Gallup home since the end of 2017. I'm glad to be back as part
of the RMCH family after my second "sa-dad-ical," taking care of both of our young daughters
over this difficult past year. In our free time we like to explore New Mexico's wilderness and go
camping. It's great to see so many familiar faces in the clinic and at the hospital -- well, at least
eyes and foreheads, since we're all wearing masks! I'm really looking forward to getting back to
work and again being the County Urologist.
I am happy to continue seeing established patients, and am accepting new patients. I believe in
communication, candor, and compassion as essential tenets of patient care. I am an expert in
general Urology, male and female voiding dysfunction, kidney stones and kidney stone surgery,
BPH and laser prostate surgery, erectile dysfunction, vasectomy, prostate cancer, bladder
cancer, kidney cancer, testicular cancer. Many of the procedures we do as Urologists are done
in the office including: cystoscopy, vasectomy, urodynamics, treatment for overactive bladder,
and many others.
Please call and let my staff and I know how we can help you.
Glad to be back!
