Dr. Matthew Spiva, DPM, FACFAS, FACPM
Podiatry
Biography:
Dr. Spiva attended Weber State University in Utah for his undergraduate studies with a major in Clinical Laboratory Science and a minor in chemistry. Dr. Spiva continued his education with four years at Samuel Merritt University in the bay area of California. After completing his doctorate he furthered his training spending three rigorous years in residency in Salt Lake City, Utah with the Intermountain Medical and Salt Lake City VA program. Upon completion of his training Dr. Spiva worked in private practice before joining with IHS serving the Navajo nation for four and a half years. During his time with IHS in addition to serving as a podiatrist he also served as the Deputy Chief of Staff at Gallup Indian Medical Center and as the Chief of the Podiatry department at Northern Navajo Medical Center. He then joined RMCHCS and has been actively working to provide excellent care to the community. Dr. Spiva has two board certifications from the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery and the American Board of Podiatric medicine. He was awarded a Certificate of Added Qualification in wound care and amputation prevention. Doctor Spiva is passionate about providing excellent care and healing those in need of our services.
