Education & Support Groups
Advanced Cardiac Life Support courses are offered twice a year at a cost of $175. The two day course is offered to those who have a current BLS card. Breastfeeding Support Group
The Breast feeding Support Group meets the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 7:00 PM to help pregnant mothers think about and prepare for breastfeeding. For more information, please call Mary Ippel at 505-863-7026
Childbirth Education classes are offered to help families prepare for childbirth and are offered on Saturdays once a month throughout the year. The class is four-hours long and is designed to be completed in one day. To register, call the Women’s Health Unit at 505-863-7026.
Continuing Medical Education (CME) Activities
RMCHCS is accredited by the New Mexico Medical Society to offer Continuing Medical Education (CME) credit for medical education activities of value to physicians and to other healthcare providers and staff. RMCHCS offers two-day classes in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention® training developed by the Crisis Prevention Institute several times a year.

Diabetes Self-Management Training Classes are offered monthly meeting four times each month on Tuesday evenings starting at 6:00 PM and are designed to help individuals control their diabetes. For more information on costs and to register, please call 505-863-1865.
Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course is offered twice a year to teach nurses various aspects of pediatric nursing care. This two-day course cost $200 for community participants. Nursing education credit is provided. For information or to register, call 505-863-7145.
Grief Support Group
RMCHCS offers grief support to those who might be hurting and feeling sorrow because of a major loss such as the loss of a loved one, loss of health, loss of possessions, loss of faith or relocation. For more information, call 505.863.7140.
Neonatal Resuscitation Program
The Neonatal Resuscitation Program course is offered twice a year at the cost of $100 for community participants. The examination for the program is available online after the course is completed. For information or to register, call 505-863-7026.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) two-day long courses are offered twice a year at RMCHCS. The cost for community participants is $175 and includes the cost of the textbook. PALS Recertification one-day courses are also offered twice a year for those who need to be recertified. Class size is limited so call early to register at 505-863-7145.
Safe Sitter two-day classes are offered annually at RMCHCS and are designed to teach youngsters how to handle emergencies when caring for younger children. This program is a medically accurate instructional series designed for girls and boys aged 11-14. For information or to register, call 505-863-7145.
Trauma Nursing Core Course is a 16-hour course to provide core level trauma knowledge and psychomotor skills. The two-day curse is offered twice a year and costs $200 for community participants. Nursing education credit is provided. For information or to register, call 505-863-7145.
