Chief Operating Officer (COO) - Administration
Basic Qualification:
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will serve as a key resource to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), with primary emphasis focused on day-to-day operations of RMCHCS. The COO will be responsible for supporting all internal functions of the organization (acute care and ambulatory operations) while developing and supporting the organization’s overall strategic mission. The COO is expected to act in the absence of the CEO. On those occasions, the COO will exercise management responsibility over the organization while ensuring efficient services that are designed to meet the needs of patients, physicians, the public and staff. This will either be done directly, or through delegation of responsibility to the management staff. The COO will oversee areas of responsibility as identified by the CEO.
Basic Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree required.
Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, business or a related field preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of eight (8) years progressive experience in increasingly responsible administrative positions with successful outcomes.
A demonstrated ability to build effective teams and to lead, mentor, and develop senior and middle management;
A commitment to high quality clinical care, along with a strong grasp of the “big picture”, and a strong grounding in every aspect of operations, including customer service, patient and clinical efficiency and effectiveness, nursing and physician integration, and engagement and financial management;
Possess a management style that is open and inclusive, demands accountability, and measures results;
A history of healthcare operations including tracking and enhancing service quality, efficiency, and productivity while improving patient, physician and employee satisfaction;
A well-developed understanding of the healthcare industry, hospital finances, human resources, and contemporary management theory and practice, and the ability to apply business acumen and current strategic planning and management tools and techniques.
