REGISTERED NURSE - Labor & Delivery
Position Summary: The Registered Nurse is responsible to the Director, Women's Health Unit to provide age appropriate and culturally sensitive care to newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. Competency is evaluated based on the assessment of the nurse's ability to utilize the nursing process as it applies to the care of Perinatal maternal and newborn nursing and basic medical-surgical and pediatric nursing, while effectively interacting with patients, significant others, and other health team members, while maintaining standards of professional nursing.
â�¢Graduation from a School of Nursing.
â�¢Minimum 1 year experience as an RN or have a BSN.
â�¢Must complete Intrapartum Nursing Modules and Orientation Plan within 6 months if you have less than one-year experience in Labor and Delivery.
â�¢Must complete and pass a Labor and Delivery test with passing score of 90% if you are a new hire with Labor and Delivery experience.
â�¢Licensure & Certifications:
â�¢Current license to practice professional nursing in the State of New Mexico or acceptable compact state RN licensure
â�¢Successful completion of Neonatal Resuscitation within six months of hire and ENPC and Fetal Monitoring within one year and maintain verification every two years.
â�¢Required to maintain verification in Basic Life Support
