How to Give

The work of the RMCHCS Foundation could not be accomplished without the financial support of our generous donors. Your gifts allow us to provide healthcare resources and improve both the health and the quality of life of those we serve. There are many ways to give to the Foundation and many areas to which you can direct your gift. The RMCHCS Foundation is a tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Donations are deductible for computing income and estate taxes.

Memorial Gifts
A wonderful way to honor a loved one is to make a gift to the RMCHCS Foundation in their name. Our memorial gift program allows you to recognize and honor a loved one or someone who has touched your life. A memorial gift is a meaningful alternative to sending flowers when a loved one or friend dies. A memorial gift is a way to make a lasting gift to remember a special person.

Unrestricted Gifts
You may choose to make an unrestricted gift to the RMCHCS Foundation. Unrestricted gifts are used where the needs are greatest and as needs arise. Our parent organization, Rehoboth McKinley Christian Health Care Services, provides over $2.5 million in charity care each year. Unrestricted gifts help the Foundation support charity care.

Pledges
Pledges provide an opportunity to give a larger gift than otherwise possible by committing the gift over a period of three to five years.

Wills and Bequests
Our wills and bequests program, Leaving a Legacy of Love, allows you to include the RMCHCS Foundation in your will.

A bequest is a simple statement in your will that designates to whom you are giving certain property. A bequest may be for a specific percentage of an estate, a specific dollar amount or for the remainder of an estate.

We are happy to answer any of your questions about including the Foundation in your will. You may also want to contact your attorney for help in making special provisions in your will.

Life Income gifts

  • Charitable Gift Annuities

A charitable gift annuity allows you to make a gift to the Western Health Foundation and receive a fixed, guaranteed income for the rest of your life. In addition to a tax deduction on the original gift, a portion of the income you receive is tax-free.

Gifts of Property, Life Insurance or Retirement Plans

  • Gifts of property
  • Gifts of Life Insurance

Many donors have found that a gift of life insurance is an ideal way to make a larger gift than otherwise possible. If you have a current policy that you feel you do not need anymore, you may transfer that policy to the Foundation. You may also take out a new life insurance policy, naming the RMCHCS Foundation as the charitable beneficiary. Your life insurance premiums are tax-deductible.

  • Gifts of Retirement Plans

You may choose to name the RMCHCS Foundation as beneficiary on all or part of qualified plans (IRAs, 401ks, 403bs, etc.) and receive tax benefits with the gift.

* All gifts are subject to approval by the RMCHCS Foundation Gift Acceptance Committee. We recommend that you contact your professional advisors to assist in your planning.
